“Virgin Mary” is the synth-induced followup single to Nots’ debut LP, We Are Nots. Recorded half on Natalie Hoffmann’s four-track in the industrial dazed storage unit where the band practices, and half in Burgundy Studios with Keith Cooper (the rock ’n’ roll warlock responsible for capturing the two previous Nots 45-RPM assaults), “Virgin Mary” delivers hellish synth and guitar that swirls around the hypnotic rhythm section as the band simmers into the sonic void.

This records shreds like a fresh wave of 80’s guitar rock like the Cars, Pat Benetar, Fleetwood Mac, and Joan Jett all wrapped up into one package of stellar production! This album stands out dramatically from the previous “Rips” for the hi-fi polished crystal clear production that veteran flawless musicianship deserves! John Isaacson

First listen gave me instant stank face. Second listen melted any prominent facial features. Third time round and I've had to re-draw on eyes, nose and a mouth with a sharpie. Super saturated, guttural garage punk with an attention span as short as you'd hope for. Flippant, phat and indefatigable, love it. SaltySeaBiscuit
